Children are naturally curious about the world around them and are eager to learn skills to help them understand their environments. Although self-help skills and having a sense of themselves and their communities is not a South Dakota Standard, many of these skills will occur daily in their school experiences in relation to the South Dakota Health Education, Physical Education, School Library, and World Language Content Standards.
